Member benefits An Annual Membership includes free admission to all monthly Business Casual Mixers & other specials events hosted by SBYPC; discounted admission to special events (such as the Holiday Gala); listing in our online member directory; member benefits such as discounted membership for other clubs & organizations, and discounted admission to performing arts events, parties, and events around town throughout the year; and the ability to post your own events to the SBYPC calendar. Benefits of JoiningFree Admission to Business Casual Mixers: We hold Monthly Business Casual Networking Events on the second Wednesday of the month. These events are free for Members are $15 each event for Guests. See our Events page for details regarding our Mixers. Member Pricing & Benefits: Members get discounted admission to our Annual Holiday Gala Benefit (our biggest event of the year) and other special events throughout the year. Members also enjoy discounts on select community events. Network with Quality Contacts: SBYPC attracts the a high-caliber group of inspiring fun and diverse professionals who are movers and shakers in the business community. Feel Good Giving Back: Your membership and involvement provides funds and support to many non-profit organizations doing great things in our community. About SBYPCIn March of 1996, a group of young professionals residing and working in Santa Barbara formed a club that would cater to individuals interested in enhancing social and professional contacts. The Santa Barbara Young Professionals Club came to be as an outgrowth of an informal gathering of young professionals that socialized on a regular basis at what was referred to as Big Wednesdays. The original members included J. Paul Gignac, Amanda Thomas, Shana Bright, Michael Magne, Laird Cagan, Jim Hazard, Laura Carlos and their illustrious ring-leader Dan Encell. Organizations that have received financial contributions from SBYPC fundraising activities include Shelter Services for Women, The Special Olympics, Transition House, Direct Relief International, Deserving Dogs, the American Heart Association, the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation, and the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation to name a few. SBYPC has always attracted a professionally diverse, fun and dynamic group of men and women. The club strives to provide an environment that is conducive to enhancing social and professional contacts.
